WoW Players WoTLK Classic Gold Request Removal of NPCs named in honor of former director Identified In New Lawsuit
World of Warcraft players are asking for two NPCs named after former WoW executive director Alex Afrasiabi to be removed from the game following explicit reference to Afrasiabi's allegations of pattern of harassment of female employees during a lawsuit brought by California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing against Activision Blizzard.
Afrasiabi who was sacked without a ceremony at Blizzard at the end of summer 2020 is the only person named directly in the State of California's lawsuit in reference to sexual harassment claims. According to the lawsuit, he often smack female employees by trying to kiss them or put on his arms and legs around women. One aspect of the lawsuit that is particularly relevant is the claim that the room was dubbed the "Crosby Suite" an apparent reference to alleged serial rapist Bill Cosby, who in 2018 was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexual assault , the charges were later thrown out at the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court.
The suit buy WoTLK Classic Gold claims that Afrasiabi's behavior of harassment was disclosed to Blizzard executives, but that no corrective measures were taken due to his seniority, with Blizzard president J. Allen Brack allegedly just giving Afrasiabi a metaphorical slap across the wrist to protest his behavior. Afrasiabi was hired by Blizzard in 2004 as a quest creator for vanilla WoW. Then, he would be the creative director for the game's Warlords of Draenor and Legion expansions.
