The message includes a link to a screen record of LoL accounts a dialogue with Zed, a person claiming to be a part of Riot's security department employee. It starts off well , saying that Riot's legal staff"isn't super thrilled about your project unfortunately and is looking for a way to come to a mutually acceptable ending to it"
But the tone changes quickly whenever the developer involved refuses to immediately play with ball: Zed first suggests that Riot is watching the Chronoshift group's activities in real time (including purported attempts to delete chat channels), and then produces a horizontal demand for the chronoshift.dev site, the source code, and all identifiable information that was shared with other developers.
"Give me what I am looking for and we won't sue. Refuse and we shall," they stated. "I am not thinking about dragging this out. Should you believe you'd love to speak to legal representation you are certainly capable of doing so. I'm on the security staff. I find people and things. I do not practice law and also have little/nothing to perform with any legal proceedings Riot is involved in. We could come to an agreement to finish this today or we can both hand this off to counselor. To be honest I don't care either way"
Handing off to counselor is the way it finally went down: A Riot rep affirmed today that the studio's legal team delivered a letter into the Chronoshift developers ,"formally asking they cease development on the job."
"Our stance on jobs such as cheap LoL smurf accounts Chronoshift can be explicitly called out in part 3 of our legal guidelines," the rep said. "We understand the Chronoshift team is disappointed, but they should not be surprised by our request."
