How can I ensure that my container has been properly packed?

Most businesses conduct a pre-shipment inspection prior to shipping to ensure that the product quality meets their expectations. However, how can you be certain that even if your products are in perfect condition after the PSI, they will arrive in the same condition? How can you ensure that your boxes are filled with the correct products and that the cartons are not already wet? How can you ensure that the correct quantity is shipped out and that the container is properly packed?

Container Loading Supervision(CLS) is a service provided by some inspection companies that is intended to check all of these aspects. This service does not include checking the AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit), which is something that a typical inspection would do.

The Container Loading Supervision is typically performed in a warehouse environment under severe time constraints and in poor working conditions. However, it is unquestionably a useful tool for further protecting your imports.

The CLS does not perform a product quality inspection. Instead of using a post-production inspection to ensure the quality of your products, consider using a pre-shipment inspection. Any issues that are discovered at this time will be moot because the container is about to depart.

What can be done during the CLS?

Check the quantity of cartons in the shipment Ensure that the products in the boxes are exactly what you ordered (no last-minute swaps) Ensure that the products are packed properly Check the container to ensure that it is in good condition (air tight, no leaks) Supervise the loading process
