Blizzard doesn't have a track record of D2R Items, me or anyone else at the top saying, "Hey, Blizzard should go make, insert kind or game." That's not really how Blizzard works. What it does is that a group of developers that really believe in something or a particular genre are given space to think about and create and produce something that we think is great. It's how it's always been, and that's how it's going today.
I'm trying find how to ask this question without overtly vilifying Activision. It's a question that I'm trying to answer, are the business realities of the present as your relationships and your parent business, Activision, such that, you can continue operating in the same way? Is Blizzard independent enough to tell you that we do not believe this is the best idea, therefore we're going out of our way to stop itand then we're going to go back on the drawing boards ... there's a chance that you'll not see another game from us in the next five or 10 years or whatever it might be? If so, are you currently in a situation in which you are able to do that?
You're aware, there were a handful of questions I asked when Mike was saying, "Hey, you should consider taking on this job." There were a few questions I had for him , and a couple of questions I asked Bobby Kotick, the CEO of Activisionand all the staff at Activision Blizzard. What you're talking about is very vital to the essence of what it is to be a Blizzard and from an engineer's perspective, in addition to, honestly from a community as well as a fan's perspective.
Here's what I'm about to be saying. As we sit here, we are about to see The Diablo League Finals which was developed together with the people from Activision Blizzard, and the desire that they have is the same as the we do and that is to have our games seen and used by millions of players across the buy diablo II resurrected items.
