A lot has changed with the Los Angeles Lakers when the team made the decision to trade for Russell Westbrook last summer. Los Angeles traded legitimate NBA assets and NBA 2K MT a first-round pick in exchange for Westbrook in an act that was widely decried when it was made. Every one of the critics of the deal ended up being right, and Westbrook was an enormous thorn in team's side during the last season. Now, the Lakers find themselves in a position where they'd do better should they decide to trade Westbrook but could have abandoned the idea.
The sad part is that Westbrook appears to still believe he is an elite player. He was not able to take any responsibility for the team's shortcomings in his post-game interview last season. Westbrook has a basketball ego that's extremely hard to break. Maybe the people in NBA 2K23 can break that ego down a bit, however. Ratings for the upcoming game are starting to come out, and Westbrook's score is not one of a superstar player (which Westbrook claims to be). It's one who plays a bench position in rotation.
Russell Westbrook was given an awful 78 percent overall score on NBA 2K23. Russell Westbrook has the fourth-highest 2K23 score of the Los Angeles Lakers. Westbrook is clearly behind LeBron James as well as Anthony Davis but he is not far behind his new player as well. The 2K team gave Patrick Beverley a 79 overall rating, which is an appropriate reflection of where he's at in his career.
Westbrook however, is placed second behind Kendrick Nunn and is barely higher than the likes of Thomas Bryant and Lonnie Walker IV. This is a massive loss of Buy NBA 2K23 MT grace for Westbrook and is entirely justifiable. Westbrook fans will be furious at this number and use his box score as the reason his rating should probably be somewhere between mid-to-high 80s. Anyone who actually watched Lakers game last season will know how misleading that box score can be, however, and how poorly Westbrook did last year.
