The Leniency in MyPlayer Building is Welcomed

One of the things that turned me away about the MyPlayer experience over the years was the restrictions placed on the construction and NBA 2K MT update process. There were numerous limitations because 2K was attempting to help keep the game balanced for online play that it wasn't fun anymore. Some of those constraints are still there, but you now have far more control and this allows you to make players that are simply more entertaining to advance. In 5v5 gameplay, I find myself wondering why my A.I. teammates create such horrible decisions. They still aren't reacting appropriately to double teams, and on crime, there is an inconsistent regard to spacing. This can create some maddening moments of gameplay.

We will talk about clipping in another, but that is more related to what happens in respect to player bodies. Ball tangibility is possibly more upsetting because as soon as the rock is socialized with, it is imperative that touch is respected and represented from the gameplay. Unfortunately, that does not always occur. I have seen a couple passes travel through the sides of gamers, across a men' shoe, etc.. In reality, it might be the single biggest criticism I have of the game on any level.

The next-gen version has multiple commentary teams, and with them, you will find special guests. This retains the sound presentation in matches fresh. Many players simply lean in their Spotify playlists, but for players like me who actually appreciate the broadcast-style demonstration, this kind of welcomed addition. To proceed with the realistic look of NBA arenas, there's also increased sound. If you go with the air look, you'll notice a great blend of flooring sound effects with the crowd (boy do I miss that in real life) along with the commentary. I'd love to see a halftime show where the comment from Shaquille O'Neal, Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith really matched the clips being exhibited about the highlight reel. It seems a bit less arbitrary on next-gen, but still nothing that'll stop me from skipping through it. By mixing MyGM and MyLeague into MyNBA, they've blown away everyone in a race that they were already winning. I have to direct you to my writeup on this feature for a more wholistic look at this mode, but trust me when I say, it's as great as advertised if you're a franchise mode fan. Roster creation and franchise style kind of go awry, and both have observed noteworthy upgrades. The next-gen version makes it possible for fans to talk about their MyNBA installations and scenarios for nearly unlimited replay value for those from the community. The amount of customization within this household of modes has every other sports gaming community envying what 2K franchise lovers have in their disposal. The idea was excellent, but it started with a slew of lumps and issues. While The City, which is a lot more expansive, might be benefiting from having far fewer consoles and players to compete with from a server-strength perspective, it's performing considerably smoother with an even bigger environment. The entire Town is massive, and it reportedly takes approximately 45 minutes to walk through every inch of it. The amount of things there are to perform in this environment is layered enough to be its own game. It will be difficult for any other sports game to come close to this technological progress.

The CAPs now have the ability to include tattoos, but the hair and face sculpting is still behind games like MLB The Show, and most surely WWE 2K titles. For some reason, it appears 2K does not find the value in allowing its franchise gamers to keep their saves from one version to the next.
