One thing that isn't listed in the Blu-ray/DVD WOTLK Classic Gold offerings is the extended version that was made by director Duncan Jones back in May. Jones said the reason on Twitter that there will "be no extended cut except if the theatrical edition does well." World of Warcraft didn't perform well throughout North America, but it did surprisingly well in China in fact, beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
World of Warcraft arrives on home video in the US and Canada on DVD and Blu-ray on September 27. followed by the release being available across the rest of the globe throughout September and October. Its digital edition of movie will be available from tomorrow, September 13.
Jones has plans for an World of Warcraft sequel, but it remains to be ascertained if it will be a reality.Blizzard Tainment has said that more microtransactions are coming in World of Warcraft via an exclusive in-game store.
Community manager Bashiok has stated on Blizzard's forum that Blizzard is "still quite early in the exploratory procedure" and that the initial tests will be held in Asian regions before spreading across other countries.The goal of the new in-game store, Bashiok said, is to speed up and simplify the purchasing process that already exists on World of Warcraft .
"For players already interested in the game's in-game items we offer like Pet Store pets and mounts, the benefits of an in-game store are pretty apparent," he said. "We believe that everyone would be delighted by being able to make purchases without leaving the game. In the end, this is our goal for the long-term of the system. However, there's some work required to retrofit already-owned items to the new system."
The first tests of the in game store will be held in Asian regions with new kinds of merchandise, including an experience boost (to help with the process of leveling) as well as an alternative method to gain Lesser Charms of Good Fortune.
"We've been receiving a lot of requests from players across different regions for items that are convenient such as this, as well as some of the new ideas we've been introducing as WoW has grown, including Pet Store pets, mounts and more, your feedback plays a hugely important part in determining the features we'll add to the game," he said.
"Ultimately it's still too early in the process to make any definitive decisions about our plans. However, as of now we'd encourage you to check out the in-game store as soon as it's available via the PTR and let us know your thoughts."
Blizzard first revealed that it was looking into microtransactions for World of Warcraft last week, after players discovered the Enduring Elixir of Wisdom on the game's Public Test Realm.
World of Warcraft will mark its ninth anniversary in November. Its number of subscribers has decreased to 8.3 million, yet it's still buy WOTLK Gold the most popular subscription-based MMO in the marketplace.
